small changes made a difference

"Just Completed Week 2 - Day 1 of Ease into 5K. Ran 2.67mi with run pace of 13:00 min/mi"

Today's run was the best so far.
I ran my usual route, and found that I was making better time hitting the landmarks than I expected.
I have actually slowed down my run pace... I think I was trying too hard to sprint, and had no energy for those 60 second runs which were the hardest part of week one.  They were killing me and I was gasping like a fish... literally unable to do more.  On a friends advice, I slowed way down and  then increased to what was comfortable and was easily able to do the 60's today.  90 seconds is the long run this week and I had to dig a little to get them done, but still felt like I was ok at the end of each of those segments.
All in all, I am really pleased with today's results.  I am trying not to think to hard about the numbers and the pace... I just want to be able to complete each workout's specifications.
